Elena Rybakina and Iga Swiatek gave it their all in the finals of the Qatar Open. With the WTA title on the line, two high-performing athletes didn’t leave a scratch behind to have an advantage over the other. The scores were 1-0 for Rybakina in the first set of the match when the Kazakh player smashed a forehand angle winner to make it a 2-0 advantage. The Polish player had no answer to the fierce strike of the World No.4.
The immense power and effortlessness with which Rybakina hit the ball, created a cracker of a sound in the arena. The crowd of Doha were entertained by the gameplay between the two. With two top-seeded players of the tournament sweating it out, the match was expected to be a thriller. And, both of them didn’t disappoint.

Swiatek came back strongly after falling behind 1-4 at one point in time in the first set. The World No.1 clinched the first round in the tiebreakers and had the advantage going into the match. The Polish player dominated the second set and clinched the match and the title.
Both Iga Swiatek and Elena Rybakina looking for redemption after Australian Open debacle
Iga Swiatek, as well as Elena Rybakina, were two of the top-seeded players in the Australian Open. However, their performance in the Grand Slam was below par. Thus, both of them were looking for a bit of a breather by winning the Qatar Open. In head-to-head between the two Rybakina led the way 3-1 to Swiatek till this match.

The Kazakh player had already won the Brisbane International beating Aryna Sabalenka last month. Thus, she had good form and momentum behind her.
While Swiatek on the other hand was looking to win the competition thrice in a row. This win made her the only player to win a WTA competition thrice in a row after the legendary Serena Williams.
