As 2022 inches closer to an end, people all around the world are in a festive mood. It has been incredible for Gael Monfils on the personal front. He welcomed his first child with Elina Svitolina in the month of October. He took to his social media account to share the birth of his daughter named Skai. The Frenchman shared a warm message on the day of Christmas.
But on the professional front, there hasn’t been much success for the 36-year-old. Though he started the year with a title win at Adelaide International, he failed to win any more titles. Of lately, he has been struggling with his form due to his injuries. Moreover, the only Grand Slam he played in the year was the Australian Open. He skipped all the other major tournaments due to a heel injury for which he missed most of the season.
Monfils got married to Svitolina in 2021 and embraced parenthood in 2022. He posed with the Ukrainian WTA player along with his daughter Skai to send across a warm message. While the former World No 6 looked dapper in a black suit, the Olympic medalist posed in a white outfit in front of a giant Christmas tree.
It is their first Christmas after becoming parents. Monfils took to his Twitter account to post the message. His post was like, “Merry Christmas to all of you ???”. But the main highlight of the picture was their 2-month-old daughter. As soon as he wished, the picture went viral on social media and was hugely appreciated.
