Ukrainian tennis star Elina Svitolina deserves all the applause she has been getting this year after the impressive comeback she has made. Having sat the entire last year due to the birth of her daughter and after having taken care of her paternal duties, Ukraine’s best made her return to the Grand Slam stage after a long in this year’s French Open.

She went on to surprise everyone in the tournament as she made it to the quarter-finals of the competition. From being an unseeded player in the Roland Garros her journey was not short-lived as she went on to improve her performance at the Wimbledon Championships. Not only that she went on to beat the top-seeded and the ideal contender for the competition, Iga Swiatek in the quarter-finals.

Now she has been adjudged as the WTA player with the biggest comeback of the season and the award is truly justified after the way she has left a sweet spot in the hearts of the tennis fans since her arrival. She has also picked up a title at the Internationaux de Strasbourg announcing her return to the tennis court in style.

A look at the 2023 season of Elina Svitolina

Elina Svitolina had been away for over a year due to her childbirth and having made her comeback I’m April this year, she was far from being destined for greatness. But little did the world know what was coming as she claimed her 17th career title at the WTA 500 Internationaux de Strasbourg in just the space of a month from her arrival.

The player who had spent 200 consecutive weeks in the Top 10 was never sort of experience and confidence and she proved that through her impressive performance in back-to-back Grand Slam competitions.

Svitolina was a constant threat to top stars after that and presented herself in tours as if she never left ending the year as the World No. 25.
