Andy Murray and Emma Raducanu
Emma Raducanu, the young Brit rose to fame after becoming the singles champion at the US Open in 2021 defeating Leylah Fernandez in the finals of the event. The teenager has been very inconsistent with her performance since her triumph at the Flushing Meadows last year and has failed to go past the quarter-finals of the WTA tournaments. She even failed to defend her title at the 2022 US Open where she lost in the first round to Alize Cornet in straight sets.
Raducanu lost to Jessica Pegula in straight sets at the Western & Southern Open in the Round of 16 citing another show of poor performance even though she had made a good start winning against the veteran Serena Williams in the first round and Victoria Azarenka in the second round. She even lost to Ludmilla Samsonova in another quarter-final appearance at the Citi Open followed by an early round at the Canadian Open. She was looked upon as the next big tennis sensation but has failed to deliver as expected despite being a top-seed player in the tournaments.
Andy Murray had another disappointing performance as he lost to the Italian Matteo Berrettini in the third round at the 2022 US Open even after defeating another top seed player Francisco Cerundolo in the first round. He has won three Grand Slam titles and is one of the elites of men’s tennis who has been able to go make his presence felt during the era of the big three. Lately, he has quite been struggling due to his injuries which have been a major concern for the Brit.
