2021 US Open champion Emma Raducanu recently made a comeback to the tour with her participation in the season’s first Grand Slam, the 2024 Australian Open.
Following a string of unfortunate injuries and corrective surgeries to rectify those issues, the Brit took the court to make a commanding statement with her first-round victory over Shelby Rogers. Subsequently, Raducanu also won the hearts of the Melbourne crowd after ensuring a critter went unharmed during her opening-round contest.
Emma Raducanu’s highly anticipated return to tour witnessed her lock horns with Shelby Rogers in the opening round of the Melbourne Slam. The 21-year-old concluded the American’s run in the hardcourt event with a straight-set scoreline of 6-3, 6-2.
During the match, a critter hilariously interrupted her match. Subsequently, one of the ball kids tried to remove the critter from the match which prompted an adorable reaction from Emma Raducanu, asking affectionately if it was still alive.
The Briton was earlier missing in action for eight months after she went under the knife for getting a corrective surgery on both her wrists and ankles.

British tennis sensation Emma Raducanu recently expressed finding consistency throughout the 2024 season during a pre-tournament conference at the Australian Open. The youngster further stated that she was trying to level back to her form before she sustained multiple injuries.
She said:
Yeah, I think success to me in the long-term is, for the rest of the year, to play a full season, to be healthy throughout, to be able to train consistent weeks. Former British No. 1 Emma Raducanu will next take on China’s Wang Yafan in the second round of the Melbourne slam on Thursday, January 18.
