Emma Raducanu’s replica US Open trophy will be on public display at UK competitions this summer. She hasn’t decided where she’ll play before Wimbledon, but she was headed to Stuttgart on Sunday for this week’s Porsche Tennis Grand Prix. Her foot blisters, which impeded her in her second Billie Jean King Cup match on Saturday, are likely to have healed. The Czech Republic’s 3-2 defeat over Britain on clay will be one of Raducanu’s more low-key performances as the summer progresses.

The Lawn Tennis Association (LTA) is eager to display her medals in order to motivate budding players. Chief Executive Scott Lloyd said this, ‘We have been talking to Wimbledon as well about how that can get some profile during the Championships.

He further goes on to say, “It is going to be a very tough year for her, in terms of her profile. It is only a year ago she was sitting her A Levels. You saw her navigate that last summer with incredible maturity. It is a learning experience.

At the governing body, there is still apprehension about the 19-year-old. Raducanu will rejoin coach Torben Beltz this week, who will remain in place for the time being. When it came to tackling a genuine clay-court swing for the first time, she had no shortage of diverse voices. GB captain Anne Keothavong, experienced Italian Riccardo Piatti, and former Davis Cup player James Ward are among them.

The LTA is also proposing to host the 12-team Billie Jean King Cup finals in November, according to Lloyd. There’s a good probability they’ll receive them, as well as the team wildcard that goes to the host country.
