“I stopped the negotiations. I felt the negotiations were taking too long. It wasn’t a solid commitment, not on the terms I wanted. We started to negotiate on things that were so insignificant in my mind that it wouldn’t have worked. I didn’t feel sure enough of myself. I didn’t feel like it was going to be a long-term relationship,” he said.

Emma Raducanu is facing a lean patch since her victorious campaign in the US Open 2021. Everyone expected her to take the mantle of British tennis forward, however, she could not perform according to her liking in the last season. She failed miserably in all tennis tournaments in which she participated last season. Also, fitness woes kept her out of the game for a long time.

It was expected that she might improve her game in the 2023 season. But she failed to lift it up. She had to retire after sustaining an injury in the second round of the ASB Classic tournament. She subsequently participated in the Australian Open. However, she again failed to advance into the third round of the tournament losing to Coco Gauff.

Her performances also took a toll on her rankings. She dropped ranking points and is currently ranked World No.82 in the WTA rankings. However, she would love to see herself much above on the leaderboard. Indian Wells Open 2023 can give her a chance to improve her rankings.

The 20-year-old got a wild card entry into the main draw of the Indian Wells Open 2023. This is only her second appearance in this prestigious tournament. Last time, she won her first-round match against Caroline Garcia before losing in the second round here. This time she would love to better her record.
