“Enough with this propaganda!” Novak Djokovic’s fans do not want him to withdraw before the US Open draw to teach the authorities a lesson

The uncertainty over Novak Djokovic’s participation just keeps getting bigger with each passing day. As of now, Djokovic isn’t allowed to enter the USA due to his vaccination status and hence can’t compete in the US Open. The US government has decided to not give any special exemptions and rightly so, the only way for Djokovic to enter the country is by getting vaccinated.
But time and again, the 21-time grand slam champion has made it clear that he won’t be getting vaccinated citing personal reasons and freedom to choose what goes into his body. Naturally, his actions had consequences and he was deported from Australia earlier this year and wasn’t allowed to play in the Australian Open.
A similar situation is rounding up this time ahead of the US Open too but the USTA hasn’t shown any interest in providing Djokovic any expectation. A ray of hope emerged a few days ago when the CDC made amends in their vaccination policy but it is still in review and the clear rules shall be out in a few days. But time is running out for Djokovic as he is still named on the entry list and the main draw ceremony will be held in a couple of days’ time- 25th August.
After Alexander Zverev’s withdrawal, Djokovic is the 5th seed of the tournament but he will eventually be removed from the draw if the rules stay the same and he doesn’t get vaccinated. To avoid wrecking the draw, many people on social media are urging Djokovic to withdraw before the draw as it looks very unlikely that there will be a rule change any time soon.

Novak Djokovic’s fans don’t want him to withdraw
Many Novak Djokovic fans, who were rightly very upset with him not playing the US Open, are advising him against withdrawing before the draw. They want him to wait till the very last minute in the hope of any kind of last-minute rule change.
