The 2023 French Open is set to begin from May 28th. The tennis world is in anticipation of one of the biggest events in tennis. The women’s singles division is packed with tight competition this year. Austrian former professional tennis player and Eurosport expert Barbara Schett thinks that the potential winner of the Women’s singles titles will be Iga Swiatek, Aryna Sabalenka, or Elena Rybakina.

The has been an ongoing comparison between the rivalry of Iga Swiatek, Aryna Sabalenka, and Elena Rybakina to the rivalry of Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal, and Roger Federer.  Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal, and Roger Federer have been considered as the big 3 for a long time due to their sheer dominance. Roger Federer has retired while the other 2 continue playing. Iga Swiatek, Aryna Sabalenka, and Elena Rybakina are now being considered the big 3 of the Women’s Tennis Association.

Iga Swiatek, Aryna Sabalenka, and Elena Rybakina are still young and their complete story is yet to unfold.  Iga Świątek is the defending champion and is considered a favorite to win the title.

However, Iga Świątek will need to overcome the hurdles of Aryna Sabalenka and Elena Rybakina. World No. 2 Aryna Sabalenka overcame Swiatek and Rybakina and won the 2023 Australian Open. Aryna Sabalenka also beat Iga Świątek in the finals of the 2023 Madrid Open. Elena Rybakina is also in top form as she has already won two WTA 1000 titles this season.

“It’s between Iga Swiatek, Aryna Sabalenka, and Elena Rybakina,” said Barbara Schett. She subtly added a brilliant analysis saying,” I think it’s good for Iga to have these two players [Sabalenka and Rybakina] that can challenge her and make her stay at the No. 1 spot. Rafa [Nadal], Roger [Federer], and Novak [Djokovic] fuelled each other to become better players, and hopefully, we can see that on the women’s side.”.

Schett basically claimed that Iga Swiatek, Aryna Sabalenka, and Elena Rybakina are now the big three of Women’s singles, and their rivalry will only propel each other to greater heights.
