This Instagram video has already reached more than 1 M views and the comment on this post by the World No.1 Tennis player Iga Swiatek has been the talk of tennis Twitter this post-grand-slam tennis season. “If we’d play doubles together, nobody’s gonna hit you” commented Swiatek with some cheeky smileys.
Iga Swiatek’s One Woman Show Season

21-year-old Polish World No.1 Iga Swiatek’s 2022 dominance resembles the prime of Serena Williams. She has won a whopping number of 8 singles titles already this season, the last triumph was at San Diego Open.
If Swiatek manages to win the WTA Finals this year and stays unbeaten in her group, she will close the season with 12,335 points, only behind Serena’s best score of 13,260 points from 2013. Ironically, if Wimbledon had allowed ranking points in 2022, Swiatek could have also possibly had 130 more.
Another astonishing record by Swiatek is the 21 bagels (winning a set 6-0)this season. The last one was at the San Diego Open final against Croatian World No.47 Donna Vekić. This is only second to the most number of bagels in a season recorded by Serena Williams in 2013 (25 bagels).
Swiatek also recently became the first female player to win 63+ matches in a single year since Angelique Kerber in 2016. Her win-loss record is 64-8 this season and has won the French Open and US open making her total slam count 3. If she stays in this form, 2023 will also be a one-woman show by the Polish World No.1.
