A fan was spotted aggressively asking her friend to show Venus Williams some respect, calling her an ‘American Treasure’. The veteran American tennis player was seen attending the Austin City Limits Music Festival. However, the fan was completely enraged at the sight of her friend crowding Williams.

Venus Williams has had one of the most illustrious careers in tennis. Along with the sister, Serena Williams, the duo have been the torchbearers of American tennis for the better part of two decades. Venus has a staggering with 7 Grand Slam titles in singles, 14 in doubles, and 3 in mixed doubles, the American has a total of 24 titles in all these categories combined.

However, considering these baffling statistics, it is only fair to call her an ‘American treasure’. When she was spotted by a fan at the music festival, the fan had quite over-the-top reaction. “Shut up. She is a f*****g American treasure. She’s an American treasure. What the f**k is wrong with you,” yelled the fan as her friends were crowding the former World No.1 tennis player.

This reaction by the fan seemed to bring out a laugh for Venus Williams and her companions. While the woman was infuriated by her friends, the veteran American tennis player seemed to get a good laugh out of this scenario.

American tennis ace Venus Williams was spotted at the ‘Austin City Limits Music Festival’. She had attended the performance by Breland at the festival. The American has not been seen on the court since her second-round upset at the US Open by Greet Minnen.

At 43 years old, Venus is one of the oldest players on the tour. However, this does not seem to stop her from enjoying, both on and off the court. She was recently seen spending her time off at the festival.

While the former World No.1 might not have had a lot of success these past few years, she is still one of the greatest tennis players. She, along with her sister Serena Williams has led the American women’s tennis scene for over two decades. However, these past few years fans have seen a changing of guard, with players like Coco Gauff and Jessica Pegula taking the baton.
