Naomi Osaka surely might be going through a bad time, considering her failed comeback at the 2024 Australian Open, but there was a time when the Japanese was at the peak of her powers. 4-time Grand Slam champion has won two Australian Open titles and two US Open titles. Although she might look shy, Osaka has a funny personality which gets more humorous when she is awkward and nervous.

A video has been going viral from the 2021 Australian Open win when Osaka won her 4th Grand Slam by defeating Jennifer Brady. In her winning speech, Osaka who on multiple occasions admits she gets anxious before the crowd, looked nervous. She had a shaking voice with which she went on to give the formal speech of gratitude.

The crowd erupted in laughter and Brady replied that she liked to be called Jenny. Osaka who was obviously shaking nervously made the mistake of accidently calling her “Jennifer”.

The video has since been shared on multiple occasions and is considered one of the iconic off-court moments in Osaka’s career. Osaka might have not made the mistake knowingly but the incident has marked her as one of the humorous players on the tour.
