Former German tennis ace Steffi Graf might have retired, but the fitness is still there, and it showed when the 54-year-old took the court for Pickleball Slam 2. 

Graf partnered with her husband and former American tennis ace Andre Agassi to take on the pair of John McEnroe and Maria Sharapova, and the German impressed everyone with her agility on the court.

Graf and Agassi’s team completely swept away McEnroe and Sharapova’s team. Out of the three matches played, Team Agassi won all of them. Graf took part in two of the three matches and did a great job of pulling off victories in both. While she partnered with Jack Sock in one match, Graf and Agassi took on Sarapova and McEnroe in the second.

Throughout the matches, Graf was all energetic and seemed to be enjoying her time on the court, although with a paddle in hand and not a racket like the old days.

Nevertheless, the level of fitness Graf exhibited at the age of 54 left an impression on the fans who applauded the former tennis World No.1. As expected, the social media platform was flooded with posts praising the 54-year-old.

Steffi Graf admits being nervous before Pickleball Slam 2

After her team’s win over Team McEnroe, Steffi Graf admitted that she was feeling the jitters before her Pickleball Slam 2 match.

The 54-year-old said that she felt the nerves and claimed that she had not felt this way in many years. Graf also talked about practicing seriously for six months leading up to this match.

Before we started, I had a lot of nerves and I haven’t felt that way in many years. It’s a great crowd and it’s really special.

Notably, Steffi Graf and Andre Agassi beat John McEnroe and Maria Sharapova 11-7, 13-11. Before this, Graf paired up with Jack Sock to take down Sharapova and James Blake 9-11, 11-8, and 17-15. The first match of the event was played between Andre Agassi (Jack Sock) and John McEnroe (James Blake). Agassi and Sock comfortably won it 11-7, 9-11, and 11-8.

With these wins, Team Agassi clean-swept Team McEnroe and pocketed the $1 million prize money.
