Both players went back to back with their games, getting the scoreboard to 5-5. This was when a shot from the Serbian went through the net, and the point was awarded to Draper, giving him an upper hand in the third set.

The 24-year-old argued with the umpire on this, but there was no change in the decision, and the point remained with the Brit. Eventually, Kecmanovic lost that hard-fought match 7-5, 6(9)-7, 6(7)-7 and ended his short run at Adelaide, triggering a plethora of reactions from fans in his support.

This was an unfortunate loss for the Serbian who marked his Round of 16 loss in the two tournaments he played in.

Before Adelaide, Kecmanovic lost to Frances Tiafoe in the Round of 16 of the Hong Kong Open and lost in the same part at the Adelaide International. Nonetheless, Draper moves on to the next round of the tournament and will face Tommy Paul to try and secure his place in the semi-finals.
