Felix Auger Aliassime shushing the crowd

Canadian tennis player Felix Auger Aliassime recently shushed the Paris Marsters crowd who were pulling for his opponent after defeating Swedish Mikael Ymer. Overcoming some disturbing heckling from the crowd, the Canadian managed to focus himself as he clinched the win in a final set tiebreaker, much to the surprise of the viewers. More interestingly, the 22-years old then waved the crowd off and put his fingers to his lips, shushing them in style.

For those uninitiated, Felix has been on a roll with his consistent performances, winning back-to-back three ATP titles in the same month. He is on a 14-match winning streak as he advanced into the round of 16 at the 2022 Paris Masters. That’s not all, the tennis sensation is considered to be one of the next-gen stars on the block as he has already won four titles throughout the year and is eyeing his fifth one. He is the third player to win three titles in the span of three weeks joining the likes of two of the most prominent names in the realm of tennis- Andy Murray and Casper Ruud.

Aliassime bounced back brilliantly after being down in the first set and pulled off some amazing shots to defeat the Swedish in three hours and 30 minutes. Despite registering a classic win, he did not receive a good reception from the crowd who continuously heckled him throughout the match. The audience tried many ways of distracting his momentum and cheered loudly whenever he lost points or would make some double faults and errors.

As soon as the match ended, the Canadian turned around the crowd and kept his finger on his lips to shut down all the haterade he received during the match. He even went on to signal towards the crowd as if he was shoving up all the hate by raising both his hands in the air and sending across the message that he isn’t bothered by such petty things. He then walked towards the net for the customary handshake post the end of the match.
