Having competed at the ongoing US Open, Andy Murray was able to make his way into the third round of the tournament after beating Francisco Cerundolo in the first round of the event and Emilio Nava in the second round, he, unfortunately, fell short of defeating Italian professional Matteo Berrettini in the third round and was eliminated.

One of the highlights of the match was Andy Murray missing a return in the third set and the Brit was visibly upset and shouted “It doesn’t need to be that good!” at his player’s box, Berrettini did not make another mistake after that as he took the game from Murray’s grasp as Murray branded the play as “Fu****g bulls**t.”

Despite being so upset, in his post-match interview, Murray seemed to have calmed down as he said, “I’m really proud that I have worked myself into a position where I’m able to [compete in matches like this], I’m really disappointed that I didn’t get over the line today. But I get reminded like ‘this is the first time you’ve made the third round here since 2016’. It’s been six years. It’s been a difficult six years for me. It’s been really hard.

After defeating Murray in the third round, Matteo Berrettini will be going up against Alejandro Davidovich Fokina in the round of 16 fixture of the tournament.
