Former tennis star Angelique Cauchy has made staggering claims about her childhood coach Andrew Geddes saying that she was r*ped three times in a day by him when she took coaching from the Frenchman. Cauchy testified at the Palais Bourbon before the commission of inquiry that was launched in July to identify the ‘shortcomings within sports federations, the sport movement and sports governance bodies’.

The former player has revealed that she was r*ped a total of 400 times by Geddes in two years. Notably, Geddes is a convicted child r*pist who was sentenced to 14 years in prison in 2021 for r*ping and s*xually assaulting four young females aged between 12 and 17. While the names of the victims were not revealed at that time, Cauchy has now testified in detail about how Geddes took advantage of her.

She said that Geddes forced the then 12-year-old to maintain a s*xual relationship with him. The former player has revealed that when she did not agree with Geddes saying it was not right, the 55-year-old made her believe that it was a normal practice between a player and a coach as “they spend a lot of time together”.

Cauchy revealed that the incident took place when she traveled to a 15-day training camp in La Baule.

I lived the worst two weeks of my life. I thought many times about committing suicide. He r**ed me three times a day. The first night he asked me to go to his room and I didn't do it, then he came into mine. It was worse. I was in prison, I couldn't get out when I wanted and afterward, I had to stay in the place where it had happened.

Angelique Cauchy claims Andrew Geddes had the backing of tennis club president

Talking further about the incidents, Angelique Cauchy claimed that the tennis club president knew about Andrew Geddes’ conduct but remained tight-lipped because “he brought titles”.

It was known in the tennis world that his behavior with young girls was not correct. When a woman complained to the club president that he had behaved inappropriately towards young people with verbal and physical violence, the answer was 'Yes, but he brings us titles'.

Notably, not only Cauchy, but three other girls aged between 15 and 17 became Geddes’ victims. They had testified that Geddes forced them to sever links with families and friends and subjected them to a series of violent s*x attacks in his car, in changing rooms, or during training courses.
