A hundred percent, it's the hardest sport in the world. I still think it's the hardest sport in the world. Because A: The ball in comparison to other sports is very small. You have to have very good hand-eye coordination. Then there is no clock, it's not a timed sport. And then it's the uncontrollable movements, up and down, side to side. So, it's tough and it's just you.
Frances Tiafoe said while explaining the reason behind naming tennis as the hardest sport.

Tiafoe started his 2024 season at the Hong Kong Open but could not do much as he was ousted from the ATP 250 tournament after a defeat in the quarterfinals. Chinese youngster Juncheng Shang beat the American in straight sets to end his campaign in Hong Kong.

At the 2024 Australian Open, Tiafoe started well as he beat Borna Coric in the first round. However, the 26-year-old could not survive against Tomas Machac as Tiafoe was defeated in three sets. In the next two tournaments- Dallas Open and Delray Beach Open, Tiafoe reached the quarterfinals and semifinals respectively.

However, he could not convert those good starts into a title-winning campaign. The 26-year-old is currently competing at the Mexican Open. Tiafoe will open his campaign against Max Purcell. It is to be seen how far the American reaches at this ATP 500 tournament.
