Frederik Lochte Nielsen, a retired Danish doubles player, has recently commended Holger Rune for his contribution to innovation on the ATP Tour. According to Nielsen, Rune’s presence on the tour is much needed as it brings a fresh perspective to the game. Nielsen strongly supports Rune’s dynamic and passionate style of play and believes it has been unfairly criticized.
And with reference to that, Nielsen made a bold statement by suggesting that Rune’s performances are more captivating compared to Novak Djokovic’s. He said to SpilXperten, “You have to remember that there has been a camera on him since he was 16 years old. He’s still just a kid who is passionate and loves to play tennis. He’s still learning about life. I think it’s really cool that he gives something to the audience. I think it’s a shame, for example, that Novak Djokovic doesn’t just embrace himself and stand by the person he is.”
These comments are likely to provoke some strong reactions among tennis fans, as Djokovic is widely regarded as one of the greatest players in history. Despite this, Nielsen believes that Rune’s unique approach to the game is exactly what it needs in order to stay relevant and exciting for future generations of fans.

Tennis coach Paolo Bertolucci speaks out: Holger Rune’s behavior is ‘Unacceptable’
In a surprising turn of events, tennis coach Paolo Bertolucci has publicly criticized rising star Holger Rune, sparking debate among fans and analysts alike. He said “He behaves like a spoiled child, now he has called the physiotherapist because, not knowing what to do to annoy him, he gets his wrist bandaged. I would like to understand how it is possible that these things can be allowed,”
Bertolucci, a former top-ten player and coach to numerous successful players, including Thomas Muster and Andreas Seppi, did not hold back in his criticism of the 18-year-old Danish player. Bertolucci’s comments have sparked a heated debate among fans and analysts, with some defending Rune and others agreeing with the coach’s criticism.
While some have called Bertolucci’s comments “unprofessional” and “inappropriate,” others have applauded him for speaking out against what they see as unacceptable behavior from young players.
