Swiatek made a booming comeback as she wrapped up the match 6-7, 6-0, 6-2. Swiatek was helped by the fact that Zheng suffered from menstrual cramps. It was the toughest of the previous 32 matches for Swiatek but she came out unscathed. She will be looking to push her winning streak against Jessica Pegula, the world number 11.

Jessica Pegula has played well in the French Open 2022 to reach the quarterfinals. She also had a decent clay season, making it to the finals of the Mutua Madrid Open. Pegula too survived an upset attempt at the hands of Irina-Camelia Begu. Pegula won the tight match 3-6, 6-2, 6-3. Pegula will face her toughest match yet, an in-form and ruthless world number 1, Swiatek.
