Alex Molcan makes a winning debut in the Stade Roland Garros as he defeats Federico Coria 6-3, 6-4, 3-6, 6-3 to advance into the second round. Molcan has had good preparation on Clay having reached two finals during the Golden Swing but was unfortunate to win neither of those. With the addition of coach Marian Vajda, the former coach of Djokovic, Molcan can be assured of knowing a thing or two about the Serbian under the guidance of his countryman Vajda.
