She has won all four of her Grand Slam finals, with three coming in straight sets. Swiatek started the first two sets, winning the opening three games. She easily won the first set, but Muchova played brilliantly in the second to force a third, deciding set. Prize Money for French Open champion Iga Swiatek

Iga Swiatek

The 22-year-old will receive €2.3 million for winning the 2023 French Open. Runner-up Karolina Muchova will receive €1.15 million. Semi-finalists Aryna Sabalenka and Beatriz Haddad Maia will receive €630,000 each.

The total prize pool for the 2023 edition of the French Open is €49.6 million. This figure is up 12.3% on the 2022 figures. There is a significant increase in the prize money for first-round losers in the women’s singles and the qualifiers. The prize money for the singles draw has increased by 9.1% alone.

Swiatek adds to her $2,119,836 of prize money in 2023 with this win, which has been record-breaking for her. She became the youngest player to win 4 Grand Slams since Serena Williams. Her dominance on clay is evident as she has won 3 of the 5 French Opens she has participated in.

The win was the most difficult of her four Grand Slam wins. Muchova pushed her to a third setter in a close match. Swiatek was clearly emotional as she fell to her knees after the win was confirmed. She spoke about what this victory meant for her and said, “It’s hard to describe. But a lot of happiness. I felt suddenly tired of these three weeks. Maybe my matches weren’t like physically exhausting, but it’s pretty hard to kind of keep your focus for these almost three weeks. And also the whole [clay court] swing. Since Stuttgart I haven’t been home. So I’m happy that I finished the whole clay court swing so well, and that I kind of survived.”
