Gaël Monfils, the French professional tennis player, who is now 36 belongs to the same generation as Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic, and Roger Federer. He has seen them up close and personal. Gaël Monfils himself was a great player and was in the top 10 for many years.

Gaël Monfils had nothing but praise for Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic, and Roger Federer. Gaël Monfils said that the three of them were incomparable and on a different level. He termed them as legends of the game. Gaël Monfils quoted, “We always want to compare the incomparable. Nadal, Djokovic, and Federer are not champions. These guys are legends. People forget it. If we could achieve the same things as them, we would be legends too.”

Even while praising the three of them Gael Monfils was quick to point out Rafael Nadal’s greatness in the Fench Open. Even while being compared to arguably two of the best to have ever played Rafael Nadal’s achievement in the Roland-Garros is on another level.

Novak Djokovic has won two French Open titles whereas Roger Federer has won it only once. In comparison, Rafael Nadal has won the competition a staggering 14 times!!! “Who has won it 14 times? Has this ever existed?”, exclaimed Gaël Monfils.

Only one of the three greats could be participating in the 2023 French Open. Roger Federer is retired and Rafael Nadal’s comeback from injury is uncertain leaving only Novak Djokovic as a confirmed player for the French Open. The fans and even the players want Rafael Nadal to make a comeback at the French Open to defend the title.

Coco Gauff picks Rafael Nadal as her favorite in the Roland Garros

Rafael Nadal has been out with an injury and his comeback at the French Open is still uncertain. But the tennis world is praying to see him back at the competition and defend the title. Coco Gauff, who has a career-high ranking of world No. 4 in singles, feels that there is something special between Nadal and the French Open.

“I don’t think he needs match experience. I’m sure he probably would have preferred to play some matches before. Him and Roland Garros is something special.”, said Coco Gauff.

Coco Gauff also mentioned that if Rafael Nadal is fit and back for the Roland-Garros, he would definitely be her favorite to win. Rafael Nadal has won the competition a record 14 times and also was the 2022 winner which makes him the defending champion.
