Bianca Andreescu , the Canadian tennis player, lost in the Round of 32 to Shelby Rogers in straight sets 4-6,2-6 at the Mubadala Silicon Valley Classic. This was her first match after her loss to Elena Rybakina in the second round at the All England Club. It was her debut at the 2022 Wimbledon Championship. She was in some sort of pain during the course of the match and resorted to various medical time-outs and eventually lost the match.

Andreescu had a career-high ranking of No. 4 in the world in the year 2019 and was the highest-ranked Canadian in the history of the WTA rankings. Andreescu became the champion at the US Open in 2019 after defeating Serena Williams in the finals. She became the first Canadian tennis player to win a Grand Slam singles title and was even first player to win a Grand Slam singles title as a teenager since Maria Sharapova in 2006.

Bianca Andreescu, recently in a post shared on her social media account in Instagram, shared an update confirming her participation at the National Bank Open in Toronto despite being under some back issues at San Jose. She is excited to be back on the court and hopes to be fit to play with some rest in the upcoming days before the matches begin. Andreescu captured the title at Toronto in 2019 defeating Serena Williams in the finals.

She captioned her story as “That was a tough match for me yesterday in San Jose.I felt a bit of discomfort in my back but I am now on my way back home to Toronto this morning and going to get ready to play next week on Tuesday night. Can’t wait to see you all out there!

She had made her return to the court in 2022 at the Stuttgart Open after a break of 15 months due to a left knee injury followed by getting Covid-19 last year, she felt at the peak of her health now and was unable to hide her excitement about the comeback. Her fans rejoiced upon receiving the confirmation and she is expected to get a lot of support from the crowd as it will be like a home-coming for her.
