Novak Djokovic will be gearing up for the US Open. This comes as a great chance for him to create history. If he wins the event, he will become the first male player to get to 24 Grand Slams and also the joint-highest number of Grand Slams winners. He had a similar chance at the Wimbledon Championships but failed at the final hurdle when he lost to Carlos Alcaraz in tough five sets. However, he would love to put that behind him and move forward and get the job done in New York.
One of the biggest strengths of Djokovic is to stay extremely calm under pressure. However, at times even he fails to keep his cool and can be seen having a go at his box. The main reason for the outburst is when the idea that comes from his box doesn’t work. He thus removes his frustration on his people. Djokovic’s coach Goran Ivanisevic was asked about such moments in an interview with Sportske Novosti. The Croatian was clear about his views on the topic.
He said, “Oh, that’s nonsense. First of all, I can’t hear half of it. It’s huge fields, the audience shouts and you can’t hear it. It doesn’t bother me, it’s emotions, it should be thrown out somewhere. It’s constantly written ‘he shouted again , again this, again that…’. We talked a million times, I have no problem with that at all. I was a player too, sometimes it’s difficult to say a technical thing in two seconds. It’s important that he plays as well as possible.”
He was very clear about the fact that in moments of frustration, this is fair, and no one really takes it so seriously. He also mentioned that it is important that at the end of the day, he wins.

Is Carlos Alcaraz getting under Novak Djokovic’s skin?

The biggest and most captivating rivalry of 2023 features a 16-year age gap between tennis titans Novak Djokovic, aged 36, and the young prodigy Carlos Alcaraz, aged just 20. Djokovic’s enduring fitness and skill earn him well-deserved compliments, inspiring athletes of all ages, while Alcaraz’s remarkable talent and fearlessness make him a formidable opponent.
Both players have met three times so far. Their first meeting came at the Madrid Open last year, where Alcaraz beat Djokovic in a tough three sets showdown, winning 7-6 in the third. They met for the second time at this year’s French Open, where Djokovic dealt with his opponent ruthlessly and easily reached the finals. Their most recent meeting, though, has been talked about a lot.
They met at the Wimbledon final this year. It was an absolute classic on the part of both players as they contested in a tough 5-set finale. Eventually, Alcaraz was the winner and claimed his second Slam. He became the first to break the Big Four dominance at the event. Many feel Alcaraz is troubling the Serb, and only a win over Alcaraz at the upcoming US Open may settle matters for Djokovic. It is a fiery young battle in the making and certainly has got all the fans on the edge of their seats.
