One of the most amazing sights at the 2023 championships is Grigor Dimitrov’s classy display of his skill. It’s been a while since the Bulgarian has looked so good on the tennis court, and his fans are absolutely loving it. He has quite easily cleared the first three rounds, which include a crucial win over 10th seed Francis Tiafoe in straight sets. He next faces the 6th seed, Holger Rune, in the fourth round.
After his win over Frances Tiafoe, the Bulgarian was asked about his next-round opponent. This is what Dimitrov had to say about his sensational young opponent. “It’s one of those matches that I will have to treat as any other match. Yes, obviously. He is a young player and dangerous player. But so am I, minus the young part.” The crowd reacted with laughter as the Bulgarian said that.
As expected, the crowd reacted with laughter as the Bulgarian said that. Dimitrov has clearly said that he expects a tough battle from the Danish ace, even called him young and dangerous. However, he also said the mantra he would use to defeat Rune. He said that he will have to treat this match like any other normal match, and that will be the key to the fourth-round encounter.

Grigor Dimitrov has a 9-0 set record in his three matches at Wimbledon. The most impressive was his third-round clash against Frances Tiafoe, where he crushed the tenth-seed American in straight sets, 6-2, 6-3, 6-2. This win came on the back of his first two round wins, which he also won in straight sets. He defeated both Sho Shimabukuro and Ilya Ivashka in those matches.
He will now face sixth seed Holger Rune, who is having a great season this time around. It will be a tough challenge. However, Dimitrov should take great confidence from the fact that he has made it to the second week. His best result at the Championships has been the 2014 season semi-final appearance. He will love to take it two steps further this time around and create history.
