‘He deserves Jail, you B***ard’ Piers Morgan slammed on Twitter for sympathizing with Boris Becker

Boris Becker and Piers Morgan

Famous host and journalist Piers Morgan is probably one of the most controversial figures in the media industry. He is well-known for his bold takes and views on social-political and sporting issues. He once again finds himself in the middle of a controversy surrounding tennis legend Boris Becker.

Becker, a 6-time grand slam champion, is one of the biggest names in tennis. Even after he retired, he was active in tennis circuits as an analyst and even coached Novak Djokovic for a couple of years. But yesterday, Becker was sentenced to 2.5 years of prison time after he was found to not abide by the terms of his bankruptcy in 2017, and hiding assets and loans worth millions to avoid repaying debts.

The German was found guilty on four counts of the Insolvency Act — removal of property, two counts of failing to disclose estate, and concealing debt. Shockingly, he allegedly transferred hundreds of thousands of pounds after his bankruptcy from his business account to other accounts, including those of his ex-wife Barbara and estranged wife Sharlely Becker. The 2.5 years of sentencing includes 1.5 years of compulsory jail time and 1 year of probation which will depend on the way he acts.

After the sentencing, Becker took to social media to express his views. He sympathized with Becker and expressed his sorrow. He also termed Becker as a great guy.

“So sorry about Boris Becker. Great guy, and always enjoyed his company. See you on the other side, mate,” Morgan wrote.

Fans on Twitter called out Morgan for supporting Becker- who is now a criminal.
