“He has always been kind and generous” Emma Raducanu comes out in support of Nick Kyrgios amidst allegations against him
Emma Raducanu and Nick Kyrgios
Nick Kyrgios recently reached his first ever singles Grand Slam finals at the 2022 Wimbledon Championship but faced defeat from Novak Djokovic in a thriller four-set match full of drama. He has been playing exceptionally well and looks good with his gameplay but time and again, he has received backlash due to his anger management issues and personal issues.
The Aussie encounter with controversies needs no introduction as he is very short-tempered and fails to hold his nerves. He was also fined for violating the dress code at the SW19. Bashing racquets or verbal spats with the umpires and the linesman and even sometimes with the audience are some of the ways Kyrgios resorted to showcase his anger at this year’s Wimbledon. He has also been fined for his on-court antics but still, it is a major concern for him as he loses his patience and concentration, eventually losing matches. If he channelizes his anger in a better way, there is no doubt he will be a great player winning more and more Grand Slam titles.
“People definitely want to watch Nick Kyrgios play”: Emma Raducanu extends her support
Apart from his on-court antics, there were some serious allegations regarding his personal life when the court issued a summon over allegations that Kyrgios had abused his ex-girlfriend. He has an image of a ‘bad guy’. Many players came out in his support for showing that he is a good human being indicating the charity he does through ‘NK Foundation ‘.
Emma Raducanu, the US 2021 champion and British No 1 player, is the recent player to extend her support to the Aussie player. She had made a post on her social media account on Twitter captioned with the initials of the Aussie player ‘NK’ to show her support. Upon asking about the reason for the tweet, the 19-year-old Britisher highlighted the fact he has been very kind and gentle towards her. She said “To me, he’s always been very kind and generous. He was supporting me after Wimbledon last year, before the US Open, so the way he’s been with me, yeah, he’s been really nice.”
She even added that she feels there is something special about him that people are talking about him and they want to see him playing more matches. She further said, “People definitely want to watch Nick.“
