Novak Djokovic after a lot of controversies, injuries and up and down in form has finally won a title this year on tourn as he defeated Stefanos Tsitsipas in the finals of the Italian Open. The World No.1 delivered a sensational performance just when it was required as he defeated the Greek 6-0 7-6(5). Djokovic recently also completed his 1000th ATP tour win by defeating Casper Ruud in the semi-finals in Rome.

The reigning Roland Garros champion did not even drop a set in his journey to the finals and looked in sublime touch all through the campaign. He had a good outing in the Madrid Open aswell as he played some tough matches and spent a lot of time on the court. The more he is playing games, the better he is getting ready to defend his title at the Roland Garros later this year.

While it took him six months and a few defeats on the way Novak Djokovic is finally getting back in form ahead of the big event in Paris. He lost the semifinals against Carlos Alcaraz but it was a match where both players played at a very high level. It was a game where we saw Djokovic playing like himself after a long time. His performances kept improving in Rome and he ultimately won the title.

After Novak Djokovic defeated Stefanos Tsitsipas in the finals in Rome as he lifted the Italian Open, former British No. 1 Greg Rusedski hailed the Serb as the greatest player to grace the game. He brought titles and weeks at World No.1 ranking into his debate and stated that the 20-time Grand Slam winner is simply the best ever over anyone else.

Greg Rusedski said that the Serb can finish his career with as many as 25 Grand Slams and has a stupendous head to head record with the other two members of the ‘Big 3’. So according to him, he is better than Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer. The British tennis star said, “Djokovic will go down as the greatest player of all time. He has been world No. 1 for most weeks, he has a winning H2H record vs Nadal and Federer. He can end his career with 25 GS titles.”
