Carlos Alcaraz is currently the most exciting player in the tennis world. The Spaniard has won three titles this year alone. He started off the year by winning the Rio Open, then won the Miami Masters and also claimed victory in the recent Barcelona Open.

The 18-year-old tennis sensation is now competing in the Madrid Open as part of the preparation for the Roland Garros and is one of the heavy favourites to clinch another title. The world no. 9 will also most probably get a chance to face his idol and fellow player Rafael Nadal in the tournament, which will mark one of the major highlights of the tournament.

He is doing a lot of things similar to me. “He is young, he has the passion and the energy. He has every single thing to become a huge star,” added Rafa during his interview.

As a fellow compatriot, he is happy to have such a great player remain on tour and prove great things in the coming future. “I’m like a Spanish spectator, personally I’m happy to have someone like him to stay on the tour for a long time and achieve a lot of things,” concluded Nadal, who is playing on clay in the Madrid Open for the first time this season.
