Novak Djokovic, the 35-year-old Serbian is undoubtedly one of the greatest tennis players of all time, with millions of fans around the world sharing the opinion that Novak Djokovic just might be the greatest player of all time by the end of his career as the Serbian keeps winning titles wherever he plays.
Djokovic won his most recent title at this year’s Wimbledon as he beat 27-year-old Australian professional Nick Kyrgios in the final of the tournament to clinch the 21st Grand Slam title of his career. With this victory, Djokovic overtook Roger Federer’s tally of 20 Grand Slam titles and now sits just one major title away from tying it with Rafael Nadal’s tally of 22 titles.
Serbian politician calls out Novak Djokovic over his vaccination status
Novak Djokovic has recently been surrounded by lots of controversies, most of them concerning his Covid-19 vaccination status, the Serbian professional made it clear that he does not plan on getting vaccinated for the Coronavirus due to which he has received a lot of backlash on social media. It is likely that he will be missing the US Open as well if he doesn’t get vaccinated.
Serbian politician Vesna Pesic took to Twitter to call out Novak Djokovic on the matter, she said, “As a well-known Djokovic fan, I wonder when he will protect his body from the vaccine at the age of 35? And those millions who received the vaccine and their bodies are dead cold, he really doesn’t care. When you infect the brain, not much is good. It seems that those pyramids in Bosnia did not help him.“
“He’s not stupid, he’s uneducated because he’s only been hitting the ball since he was 6 years old. It’s not a sin, he’s achieved success. I have no chance to fight with them either,” she added further.
If Novak Djokovic does not get vaccinated, like in so many tournaments already, he will also be missing the US Open. The Wimbledon champion was deported from Australia earlier this year and barred from the Australian Open and a similar case is happening with the final major tournament of the year as well.
