Holger Rune has hit hard at Eurosport on Twitter after the media outlet posted a quote he made about Novak Djokovic way back in 2021.
The Danish star, who has reached the semifinals of the Open Sud de France after an early exit at the Australian Open, made the blast at Eurosport on X, formerly known as Twitter.
Novak Djokovic, who is rated as one of the greatest tennis players of all time, has been hailed by legends and top players. However, he is a big admirer among younger players, some of whom love his determination to win more titles than his compatriots, Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal.
In an interview, the 21-year-old pointed out that despite the influence of Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal’s advice during the beginning of his professional career, Novak Djokovic’s word of wisdom stands out for him.
The quote posted by Eurosport, part of the interview on X, reads:
Djokovic said many good things to me. It's funny because it's always Federer and Nadal who are named as the good guys, but when it comes to future generations, I think Djokovic gives the most. The quote

Meanwhile, Novak Djokovic has revealed that he is not going to participate in the Dubai Tennis Championship. The 36-year-old would be hoping to come back stronger after a shocking defeat to Jannik Sinner at the Australian Open semifinal. With that being said, Rune, on the other hand, will be hoping to win the Open Sud de France title.
Holger Rune ends short collaboration with Coach Severin Luthi
Holger Rune has recently announced that Severin Luthi will no longer be part of his coaching team after less than two months of collaboration.
Rune’s mother, Aneke Rune, confirmed the reports to the Danish newspaper Ekstra Bladet, saying that the split was a result of scheduling conflicts and nothing special.
Don't want to make a big deal out of it, but the timing with Severin was clearly not right. It would be too few weeks for Severin to be able to cover for the continuity that Holger needs.she said
On December 20, Rune announced that the former Roger Federer coach and Swiss Davis Cup captain, Severin Luthi, would join Boris Becker as a coach on his team in 2024. Luthi had traveled with the Danish star to Melbourne for the Australian Open, but his time in the competition was shorter than expected as the No. 8 was beaten in the second round by French wildcard Arthur Cazaux.
