“Don’t want to have this guy as my trainer,” Seven-year-old Holger Rune decided to stop playing tennis over a coaching dispute that startled his parents

Tennis has produced amazing youngsters over the years. With different attributes, there have been many successful players on the court. Recently, the world witnessed a player who wears his heart on his sleeves but is extremely dedicated to the sport.
Holger Rune, the young Dane, has been a once-in-a-generation talent who is capable of producing high-quality tennis.

Ever since he turned professional, the Dane has been trying to get the best out of himself. It turns out the 20-year-old has been like this since the tender age of 7. His mother, Aneke Rune, recalled a childhood incident that proved how Rune works towards maximizing his potential.
According to his mother, Rune was ready to quit tennis over a coaching dispute. In a coaching club, Rune and some other kids got assigned a new coach who did not meet the requirements of Rune, who was ready to give up tennis over not getting the kind of coach he needed.
They hired another coach at the club and Holger was watching him. There were a lot of kids on the court and there were two coaches and the other coach was supposed to take the young kids,” Rune said. “The plan was this new guy should take over all the small kids. Holger went to me and he said, ‘I don’t want to have this guy as my trainer’.Narrated Aneke via ATP.
Thus commenced his journey in pursuit of perfection. Till now, Rune has not fixed on one constant and finds ways to improve himself.

Having entered the tournament as one of the favorites, Rune lost only in the second round of the Grand Slam. In a 4-set battle against Arthur Cazaux, the Dane was not at his best, resulting in an early exit.
Since then, there have been many changes in the camp of the 20-year-old. He first parted ways with Severin Luthi, who was with him for over a month.
However, Boris Becker remains, assisting wherever he can. As one of the most experienced coaches out there, Rune is in great hands, who might turn him into a champion player in the future. Now, the youngster gears up to feature in the Open Sud de France, where he enters as the No. 1 seed.
He plays his first match in the ATP tournament in the round of 16. One step closer to another quarterfinal, Rune looks to make it up for Australia and regain his lost form.
