Holger Rune’s mother, Aneke Rune, penned down a heartfelt note on the occasion of the 25th birthday of his sister, Alma Rune. Aneke posted pictures of her daughter on her Instagram account and wrote the note in the caption of the post. In the note, she called Alma the fastest learner she has ever met and also called her super smart and wise. 

25 years today my beautiful princess. You make me SO proud. Looking at you makes me smile, you are pure beauty, innocence, talking to you is fun, it’s serious, it’s sparring. You are wise and super smart, the fastest learner I have ever met. Keep being you. Nothing compares to you. Happy birthday.

Alma Rune was born to Aneke Rune and Anders Nodskov in Gentofte, Denmark, on February 2, 1999. She is a model by profession and blew out on social media during the match between Holger Rune and Stefanos Tsitsipas in the 2022 French Open, when she was constantly in the foreground as cameras kept on panning around her. The fans started joking on social media that the cameraman was obsessed with her. 

As a result, Alma Rune currently has over 42.6K followers on social media and keeps updating her fans with various posts time and now. She currently has 297 posts on her account and often goes to see her brother’s matches from the stands.

Holger Rune’s mid-match retirement in the 2024 Montpellier Open semi-final 

Rune suffered an injury in his right forearm in the middle of his match against Borna Coris in the semi-final of the 2024 Montpellier Open. Thus, he had to retire in the middle of the second set. The Danish was already losing the match when he gave the walkover. Coric played brilliantly from the very beginning, won the first set, and also had a 4-1 lead in the second set.

Things are not going well for the Danish international. He got eliminated way too early in the Australian Open as well after his loss against Arthur Cazaux in the second round, and recently he ended his partnership with Roger Federer’s former coach, Severin Luthi, whom he appointed to his coaching team a few months ago. However, he still managed to wish his sister on her birthday through an Instagram story. “Happy birthday to the best sister in the world,” he wrote.
