This comment from Ostapenko dismissing her opponent’s gritty performance to take the match to the third set was not well received. Especially the comment on ‘the level difference between her and her opponent’ was the last nail in the coffin. She received a lot of criticism from the fans as well as from tennis players like Rennae Stubbs. Though some of the fans were also amused by Ostapenko’s no-sugarcoating answer approach. They thought it was nice for someone to speak their mind without any other consideration. Many also went to make fun of and support Ostapenko’s funky dress.
