“How could you?”- Piers Morgan reignites old feud with Emma Raducanu on her choice of favorite Premier League team

English broadcaster and journalist, Piers Morgan loves to be in limelight. He is time and again involved in some kind of controversy but fearlessly puts out his opinions on various social, political, and sporting matters. Last year after Wimbledon, Morgan lashed out at Emma Raducanu, who was making her grand slam debut, and said that she doesn’t have what it takes to compete at the highest level.
And once again, Morgan took to social media to mock Emma Raducanu. Recently, Emma posted some pictures of herself practicing in Stuttgart in a Tottenham Hotspur outfit. Morgan, who is a huge Arsenal fan was naturally bummed out by her choice of the club given the intense Arsenal-Spurs rivalry- The North London Derby.
Morgan, who is very active on Twitter, wrote: “Oh @EmmaRaducanu – how could you?” As an Arsenal fan, like many on social media, Morgan expected better choice from Emma and hence was quick to express his disappointment.
Morgan was once again mocked by many to take a dig at Raducanu but some fans also supported him for his questioning of the Brit’s choice.
Emma Raducanu hopeful for a good outing at Stuttgart
After making her clay debut at Billie Jean King Cup last week, Raducanu will make her tour debut on clay at Stuttgart. She is seeded 8th in the tournament and has been placed in the upper quarter of the draw. She will open her campaign against Storm Sanders in the first round on Wednesday and will then face either of the Italians, Jasmine Paolini, or Camila Giorgi, if she wins.
She is drawn opposite World No.1 Iga Swiatek and will most likely meet her in the quarterfinals. Despite winning her debut match on clay, Raducanu lost her second match rather poorly where she didn’t even win a service game. She will hence be motivated to do well in Stuttgart.
