World No. 10 and the 7th seed at the 2022 Wimbledon Championships, Hubert Hurkacz will be one of the contenders for the Grand Slam given his semi-final run last year when he defeated Roger Federer in straight-sets in the quarter-finals including a bagel in the third set. Coming into this year’s event, he won the ATP-500 Halle Open as well defeating top seed and World No. 1 Daniil Medvedev in the finals.

With grass being a good surface for servers as the ball moves quicker after hitting the surface and increases the ace count for players, Hurkacz has pledged to donate 100 Euros for every ace that he hits during his run at the Grand Slam and the proceedings will be then donated for Ukraine. “I’d like to announce that starting tomorrow I am pledging to donate 100 euros for every ace I hit at Wimbledon to help support the people of Ukraine. Hope my serve works well! #acesforaid,” tweeted Hurkacz.

With 1715 aces so far in his career in 187 matches, the Pole’s record sees him being ranked 65th in the history of the sport since the stats are available, within 7 years since turning Pro, Hurkacz has etched his name as one of the brilliant servers in the sport while already becoming the ace leader for Poland.

At last year’s Wimbledon, in 6 matches he hit 54 aces, averaging 9 aces per match. In the 6 grasscourt matches that he has played this year in the Best-of-3 format, the Pole has already hit 70 aces, averaging almost 12 aces per match. With the Grand Slams being Best-of-5, he can surely increase the number and make a good contribution to the cause.
