Hungarian star Fabian Marozsan snubs Novak Djokovic to name Rafael Nadal as his idol, calls Roger Federer the ‘best’

Fabian Marozsan, the Hungarian tennis star called Rafael Nadal his idol while also stating that Roger Federer is the best player. Interestingly enough, he left out and did not mention anything about the Serbian legend, Novak Djokovic.
Fabian Marozsan has had a good run in the ATP events this year. He recently defeated the World No.4 Casper Ruud in the fourth round of the Shanghai Masters in three sets to proceed to the quarter-finals of the tournament. Earlier this year, the Hungarian had also defeated Carlos Alcaraz in the Italian Open.
In the post-match press conference after his match against Ruud, Fabian Marozsan talked about his tennis journey and idols growing up. Talking about how he had no Hungarian to look up to, he stated that he considered Rafael Nadal, the 22-time Grand Slam Champion as his hero while also mentioning that the best tennis player was Roger Federer.
In the conference, he stated, “I don’t have Hungarians, or we don’t have so many players at home, unfortunately. But, yeah, I think one of the best players in the world is, of course, it’s Roger, but my hero is Nadal, Rafa Nadal”.
Fabian Marozsan talked about his early life and pursuit of tennis
The Hungarian player, Fabian Marozsan has been in the limelight for having created 2 major upsets in the ATP tournaments this year. He recently overcame Casper Ruud at the Shanghai Masters and also defeated Carlos Alcaraz at the Italian Open earlier this year. He recalled his childhood and mentioned how he started playing tennis at the tender age of 5 under the guidance of his father.

He also mentioned how this was the first sport that he tried his hands on and instantly fell in love with the sport at first sight. He credits his father for having reached such a big stage in his life who watches all his matches and supports him from back home.
