Carlos Alcaraz, the-19-year-old prodigy quickly rose to the spotlight as he continuously displays excellent performances consistently, Alcaraz is destined for great things with his potential and the level he plays at such a young age, currently competing at the Croatia Open, Alcaraz has made his way into the quarter-finals of the tournament.
The Spaniard began his title defense of the Croatia Open by winning his first round of 16 match against 31-year-old Slovakian Norbert Gombos in straight sets yesterday, the teenager only dropped five games throughout the match and displayed yet another performance as he progressed through to the quarter-finals.

Alcaraz had to save seven break points in yesterday’s match as the teenager made his way to victory against Gombos, after winning the Croatia Open in 2021, Alcaraz aims to keep it going and win it again this time around. The Spaniard expressed his contentment at returning to the hard court once again.
In his post-match interview, Alcaraz said, “It’s always special to come back, this year it’s a little more normal and I’m very happy to play here again. … Today I had to run, fight and the first rounds are always difficult and I was able to play at a great level, many things have changed (in the last 12 months). Personally and professionally, in one year, I was able to experience many good moments, but I work hard to achieve these goals, and I continue to grow.”
In the quarter-finals of the tournament, Alcaraz is scheduled to face Argentine Facundo Bagnis today as he will be looking to keep his winning streak going and book a place in the semi-finals of the tournament. The last time Alcaraz won the Croatia Open was last year when he was ranked world number 73, destiny took a turn and Alcaraz returns to the event as world number 5 and is only aiming to go even higher.
