Carlos Alcaraz, regarded as one of the best young players, has had a great start to his young career. He is riding on a high after becoming the World number 4 in the ATP rankings, his career-best ranking. He had another shot to win his fifth ATP title of the year along with defending his title at the Croatia Open in Umag but eventually lost the match to Jannik Sinner in three sets. Even though he hasn’t had much of a success rate in the Grand Slam events, but still has managed to reach at least the third round in all three events of this year.
The young Spaniard has already won four ATP Tour titles this year- the Rio Open, the Miami Open, the Barcelona Open, and the Madrid Open equalling his idol and compatriot Rafael Nadal, who has also won four ATP titles in a single year. His match-winning streak on clay ended after his loss at the finals of the Hamburg Open against Lorenzo Musetti where Alcaraz was looking for his fifth successive ATP title of the year.

Carlos Alcaraz has a stellar 75-25 record after 100 matches. Rafael Nadal, Roger Federer, and Novak Djokovic considered the greatest players of all times, have been proving their dominance over the years and still continue to do so. Altogether, the three of them have won 63 out of the last 77 Grand Slam singles titles which are something of a kind, and also have been the World No. 1 for at least a span of 100 weeks.
Recently, in an interview, he expressed that what the Big 3- Rafael Nadal, Roger Federer, and Novak Djokovic have achieved is totally a different level of tennis and something of that sort will never be repeated again. He revealed that younger players have a long way to go but still will not be able to overtake them in any way. He said “No, I didn’t think that. It’s not a lack of confidence in my abilities or those of my teammates, but I don’t think that I and the other young people can repeat what was done for them. We are talking about an impossible company and that is not in my thoughts at the moment.“
The Spaniard player will be looking to build on a strong campaign at the Canadian Open ahead of the US Open. He will be targeting for his fifth title of the year and third ATP Masters 1000 title in Canada.
