“I feel more confident in what I’m doing now,” Emma Raducanu beginning to discover herself despite early exit from Cincinnati

Emma Raducanu
Emma Raducanu, the 19-year-old prodigy has already had a few ups and downs in her short career, the young Brit stunned the world when she lifted the US Open last year after beating Leylah Fernandez in the finals of the tournament. With her maiden major title win, there came loads of pressure on her future performances as well.
Emma Raducanu has had an underwhelming season this time around, facing early exits from every major tournament this year. The young Brit faced a second-round exit from Wimbledon this year, she was able to reach the quarter-finals of the Citi Open but was eliminated by Ludmilla Samsonova and the same was the case for the Canadian Open and now the Cincinnati Open as well.
Emma Raducanu talks about her style of play

Recently having competed at the Cincinnati Open, defending US Open champion Emma Raducanu bowed out of the tournament in yet another early exit as her form keeps taking a stumble. Raducanu started off the tournament with a win over Serena Williams in the round of 64 and then another victory over Viktoria Azarenka in the round of 32. Her performance took a hit as she faced Jessica Pegula in the round of 16 today, Pegula defeated Raducanu in straight sets by 7-5, 6-4.
Talking in the post-match press conference about her progress, Raducanu said, “I think I do each of the aspects pretty well, separated. But I just need to put them together. For example, some weeks I have served really, really well. I think over the clay in the beginning I served really well. Then like some weeks, I don’t know, it would just disappear and then I will become more of a defensive player. Then I will become more of an attacking player.”
“So I think I am still trying to find the balance and just trying to package my game together more so. But like I said, every match at this level I figure out what works, what doesn’t work, and how I should be hitting the ball. I feel more confident in what I’m doing now.“
After beating Raducanu, Jessica Pegula faces yet another tough fixture in the quarter-finals as she will be facing Caroline Garcia in the next round of the Cincinnati Open.
