Arina Rodionova and Novak Djokovic

Arina Rodionova, an Australian tennis player, humorously mocked Novak Djokovic‘s hamstring injury during the recently completed Australian Open. Despite the injury, the Serbian tennis player still managed to come out on top and win the title last month. Rodionova was slated to face Olivia Gadecki of Australia in the quarterfinal match at ITF 03A but ultimately withdrew due to an injury.

Before the match, however, the Australian player took to Instagram to post a picture of herself working out with a bandage on her thigh. She jokingly captioned the image, saying that she had done her homework and discovered that even with a three-centimeter hamstring tear, she could still play—a playful reference to Djokovic’s victory at the Australian Open despite his injury.

She took to her Instagram and said “So I have a 3cm tear in my hamstring and I’ve done some research, I should be good to go tomorrow.” Arina Rodionova boasts 9 title victories on the International Tennis Federation (ITF) tour. She achieved her highest career ranking of 116 in 2017 and currently holds a world ranking of 302.
