“I have plans” Serena Williams knows what she’ll be doing a day after retirement

Serena Williams, the 40-year-old American professional is undoubtedly the greatest female tennis player of all time, with 23 grand slam titles to her name, Williams has etched her name in the history books among the all-time greats of the sport. Serena is widely credited with revolutionizing the game of tennis for women all across the globe as well.

Williams recently broke a lot of hearts as she announced her imminent retirement from tennis, she announced that the ongoing US Open will be the final tournament of her career before she pulls the curtain on a journey filled with so many titles and memories. Serena Williams has influenced millions around the world throughout her career.

Serena Williams talks about her future plans after retiring from tennis

Having competed at the US Open, Serena Williams started her campaign with a bang as she defeated Danka Kovinic and Anett Kontaveit in the first two rounds of the tournament. The American icon had people believing again but she fell short to Ajla Tomljanovic in the third round of the US Open.

Serena Williams put up a fantastic performance against Tomljanovic but she faced defeat and bowed out of the US Open, in her post-match press conference, Serena talked about her future plans after retirement, she said, “I am ready to be a mom and explore a different version of Serena, and technically i am still super young so I wanna have a little bit of a life while I am still walking.“

Ajla Tomljanovic beat Williams over three sets by 5-7, 7-6, 1-6 in the third round of the tournament at the Flushing Meadows. Her dream of finishing her career with a title win was ruined but she received an amazing reception from New York as she retires from the sport that she has defined for an entire generation.

After defeating Williams in the third round, Ajla Tomljanovic will be facing Ludmilla Samsonova in the round of 16 fixture of the US Open.
