“I hope to be 100% by the end of the year!” Daniil Medvedev believes his absence from Wimbledon has boosted his chances of winning the US Open 2022

Daniil Medvedev, the 26-year-old Russian professional is currently one of the best tennis players in the world at the moment, the world number 1 has 1 Grand Slam title to his name and he is truly a formidable opponent for anyone in the world right now. Medvedev is one of the strongest competitors going into this year’s US Open.
Daniil Medvedev recently competed at the Cincinnati Open, he came to the tournament after losing out in the first round of the Canadian Open to Nick Kyrgios, he managed to reach the semi-finals in Cincinnati as he was bested by Stefanos Tsistpas in the last four stages of the event.

Daniil Medvedev believes in himself ahead of the 2022 US Open
With the US Open right around the corner, Russian professional Daniil Medvedev is one of the strongest contenders for winning the final major tournament of the season at the Flushing Meadows. Ahead of the commencement of the tournament, Medvedev talked about his chances at this year’s US Open.
Medvedev said “Will not having played at Wimbledon help me for the US Open and the rest of the year? I really hope so, although you can never be sure. In any case, it allowed me to do a big three-week preparation for the US Open and the end of the season, which very rarely happens in the middle of the year. With my team, we did a lot of work. Physically and mentally, I hope to be 100% until the end of the year.“
“Over the past 12 months, a lot has happened. The Australian Open, the world No. 1 spot, my injury this spring, wins, losses… a player’s life does not exist without all these things, but I take it all as experience,” Medvedev added further in the latest edition of The Player’s Voice.
Medvedev is undoubtedly one of the strongest contenders for the US Open this time around as he will be looking to defend the title that he won in a thrilling final against Novak Djokovic last year.
