Novak Djokovic will be back in action for the first time after winning the Astana Open a few weeks ago. He has won 4 titles this season and will want to continue his 9-match winning streak running as he aims to win a record 7th title in Bercy. After Bercy, he will finish his season at the ATP Finals in Turin.

In the pre-tournament press conference at Bercy, Djokovic was asked on account of Halloween whether he would like to be thought of as ‘Tennis’ Monster’. Djokovic took the question on a lighter note and laughed it off by saying that whatever the significance of that word is, he prefers not to be termed the Monster of Tennis.

“The monster? I don’t know the significance of that word in your language, but in mine is not really the best,” Djokovic said. “I prefer not to be the Monster of Tennis. But yeah, the record against most of the top players, well, against pretty much all of the top players is positive, which is great.”

Djokovic further answered the role of experience that helps him prepare for the big stage. Having played so much tennis, he said that experience helps him prosper as compared to some younger players. He said that it is something he has maintained and managed to do well in his career and hopes that he’ll continue doing that in the near future.

“You know, we played so many tournaments throughout the year and throughout our careers, and some of us have been there more than some of the younger players. So playing more matches helps, I think, to know how to approach every next big challenge when you play one of your top rivals. I have managed to do well throughout my career, which is great, which is something that I always intended to do,” he said.
