Novak Djokovic’s coach Goran Ivanisevic after a relatively early exit for Novak Djokovic at the French Open attended an interview. Djokovic is set to lose his world No.1 title with the loss against Rafael Nadal in the Quarter-Finals of the Roland Garros.

Goran was talking about the next step for Djokovic with the tour going to Wimbledon next. Djokovic has played some exceptional tennis in the past few months. But he hasn’t been able to live up to the unattainable expectations that he had set in 2021.

The Serbian was winning Grand Slams for fun last year. He was on a dream streak where he won 3 grand slams and reached the final of the fourth. But this year Djokovic’s year began with a trainwreck at the Australian Open.

That was expected to be over at the French Open but his path to victory was blocked by the Spanish Bull. The ‘King of Clay’ stopped the Nole train and Djokovic didn’t manage to defend his second title.

Djokovic will be expecting to stop it from failing to defend third which is just weeks away from us. Goran in the interview ensures that Novak Djokovic will be ready for Wimbledon and is the favorite to win it.

Goran Ivanisevic believes that Novak Djokovic is all set to win his 21st grand slam at the Wimbledon 2022. According to him, Djokovic is known for his comeback and he will definitely come back strong from the setback at the french open.

Goran in the interview was asked that after many disappointments in Paris. Do you think he will recover quickly? to which Goran replied by saying, “Of course he can, and he does not have much of a choice, if we are being honest. He is the biggest favourite at Wimbledon, just like Rafa was here. Novak now needs to rest well and prepare for Wimbledon physically and mentally. I am sure that he can do it and I think he will win Wimbledon, I have a good feeling about that. He needs to focus on grass now.”

Next, the interviewer asked if Djokovic was going to play any other tournaments before Wimbledon. To which Goran replied, “Most probably not. We will see, but now the key thing for him is to recover mentally. As I have said in the past, Novak is a genius with a different mindset than most of us. Even though he needs less time than most to come back and figure some things out, he still needs to do it. He has overcome tough losses in the past, and I am completely certain that he will be ready for Wimbledon.”
