Iga Swiatek
Iga Swiatek, the 21-year-old is arguably the best female tennis player in the world right now, ranked the highest in the world. Iga Swiatek has achieved so much for someone as young as her, with 2 Grand Slam titles to her name and surely more to come, Iga Swiatek just needs to be consistent with her game and performances to stay at the top.
Winning the French Open last, Iga Swiatek has been struggling for form since this year’s Wimbledon, she reached the quarter-finals of the Poland Open, was eliminated in the second round of the Canadian Open and most recently she bowed out of the Cincinnati Open in the second round as well after losing to Madison Keys in straight sets.
Iga Swiatek slams the US Open for using different tennis balls than men

After facing Sloane Stephens in the round of 32 fixture of the Cincinnati Open, world number 1 Iga Swiatek went on to criticize the US Open organizers for having different tennis balls than the men’s game. Swiatek beat Stephens in a comfortable win in straight sets as she emerged victorious by 6-4, 7-5.
Talking about the rules of the balls in her post-match press conference, Iga Swiatek said, “We make more mistakes [with these balls], for sure, So I don’t think that’s really nice to watch visually I don’t know why they are different than men’s ones. Fifteen years ago probably women had some elbow injuries because the balls were heavier and they changed them to women’s balls. But right now we are so physically well prepared that I don’t think it would happen.“
“I feel, it’s really hard to control them, but everybody has the same conditions, so we are trying to deal with that. I don’t get why they are different, honestly,” Iga Swiatek added further.
The world number 1 faced American professional Madison Keys in the round of 16 fixture where she lost the game in straight sets by 3-6, 4-6. After the loss, Swiatek faced a lot of backlash from fans on social media, and to rub salt in the wound, Madison Keys took a cheeky dig at Swiatek by mentioning that she does not find anything wrong with the tennis balls.
