Novak Djokovic, the reigning Wimbledon champion has taken his tally of Grand Slam after a phenomenal victory over the Australian tennis star, Nick Kyrgios who was playing his first major finals. Novak defeated the 45th-ranked Kyrgios by 4-6, 6-3, 6-4, 7-6. The Australian handled the pressure really well in the first set and won it but as the game moved to the next sets, it was Novak who ruled the court in the next three sets to extend his streak to 4th consecutive Wimbledon title.
Kyrgios’ first-ever Grand Slam final was never going to pass by without any controversy happening. The match saw a lot of controversies happening all at once like Nick screaming at the chair umpire throughout the game, a protest by Australian anti-communist Drew pavlou which again raised questions about the whereabouts of Chinese tennis player Peng Shuai and also an incident when a drunken woman was thrown out off court for distracting Nick Kyrgios.

The ‘drunken’ woman who Kyrgios had thrown off Centre Court during the game after saying she’d had ‘700 drinks’ has said that she only had two and was trying to support the tennis player. Ania Palus, 32, who was temporarily escorted out from the Wimbledon Grand Slam final, said that the temperature impacted her while watching the game. The Polish medical lawyer said that she was trying to support Kyrgios, who ‘always says the crowd is against him.
The woman later after the incident gave her statements to The Telegraph about the whole situation and how she felt during the match, she claimed that she had no intentions to distract Kyrgios and how the high temperature impacted her after consuming only two drinks Pimms and a rosé. She also apologized to Nick for the whole situation.
“I wanted to give him support. Maybe I took it too far… but I only had good intentions,’ she said. ‘It’s the temperature for me, I had no hat,’ she said. ‘I’m really sorry.’
She was later allowed to sit in the stands after being given some water.
