Serena Williams has been in the headlines since she made her retirement announcement and will likely play the final matches of her career at the 2022 US Open. She received a great welcome as she entered the court for her first-round match against Danka Kovinic at the US Open in a crowd-packed audience to see the six-time US Open for the final time as she pulled off the winner overcoming all odds to start her final innings journey on a good note.. She has been crucial in paving new ways for the upcoming generation creating her dominance over the past two decades.
The American legend has won as many as 23 singles Grand Slam titles which is the most by a player in the Open era and has been a fashionista when it comes to her choice of outfit at the Grand Slams. She went up a notch higher with her outfits this time as it was a full diamond studded outfit with some unique customizations and giving a tribute to her each past win.

Serena along with her sister Venus Williams will play her doubles match after receiving a wild-card entry at the US Open and they will be playing together after a gap of four years. They both as a pair are undefeated in the finals of the Grand Slam tournaments as they have won 14 doubles Grand Slam titles together and also three Olympic gold medals.
Venus Williams who is a two-time champion at the US Open, during an interview, upon being asked about her doubles campaign called Serena the one who takes the final call. She said “Yeah! It was Serena’s idea. She’s the boss. I’ll do whatever she tells me to do!“. She even added that they support each other’s decisions and would love to win some more. She added, “I don’t think we have played since 2016 but might be getting that warong. We have had some great wins. It would be nice to add some more.“
Serena Williams on the other hand is quite excited to play with her sister as it may be the last time they will be playing since Serena is about to retire from the professional world. Upon being asked about the doubles campaign, Serena expressed her excitement and is looking forward to the match. She said “She is my rock. I’m super excited to play with her again. It’s been a long time.”
Serena will be up against Anett Kontaveit in the second-round clash which gives her another match to play before she bids the final adieu whereas Venus has lost her first-round match against the Belgian Alison Van Uytvanck and is looking forward to her much-anticipated doubles match.
