“I would stop coaching him right away,” Toni Nadal sends a warning to Felix Auger Aliassime amidst a coaching conflict row involving Rafael Nadal

Toni Nadal was coaching the young Felix Auger Aliassime at the Roland Garros 2022. The 61-year-old man informed the youngster that he won’t be providing him any help in a match against his nephew Rafael Nadal. In the fourth round match between the two players, Toni wasn’t present in Felix’s box and he had no assistance from his coach.

The match went into the fifth set as both the players fought very hard to win the match but in the end, it was the Spanish Bull who came out on top and won the match against Felix who also played an amazing match.

But it is fair to think if Toni was present to provide some assistance to Felix or some mental support then he could’ve performed in an even more impressive manner than he did. He could’ve even gone on to win the match against the 13-time french open winner.

Felix Auger Aliassime found himself all alone with no one to provide him with any assistance when he needed it the most. While Toni Nadal the person supposed to help him kept threatening him that he would stop coaching him but not give him any assistance in this match.

It was a really bad move for a coach to leave his player before a match just because he was playing against a member of his family. Felix Auger Aliassime probably would’ve played a much better match with assistance from his coach but Toni Nadal betrayed him.

Toni after the match when asked about the issue said, “I had a deal with Felix in which I wouldn’t sit in his box in the case he faced Rafa. He knew I wanted Rafa to win and didn’t even go to his last practices before that match. If he didn’t accept that, I would stop coaching him right away, but he is a good kid

Toni Nadal’s behavior was absolutely unreasonable he left his player in the middle of a tournament just because he was up against one of his family members. This shows that he will repeat such things in the future as well which means that he is not a good fit to be a coach to any player except Rafael Nadal himself.
